Training that people use on Monday morning

Skillset Development is a professional training provider. We run short, instructor-led courses for people who need a specific capability at work — not a qualification to hang on a wall.

Most professional training fails in the same way: it is delivered by someone who has read about the subject rather than done it, using generic slides that could belong to any organisation, and it produces nothing a participant can take back to their desk. We built this company around avoiding that.

How we work

Practitioners, not lecturers

Our facilitators work in the fields they teach. They bring current practice, the mistakes that are actually common, and answers to the awkward questions that come up on day three.

Every day ends in a workshop

Each course day closes with a hands-on exercise producing something concrete — an analysis, a plan, a model, a draft. By the end of the week you have a worked example from your own context.

Published dates, real schedules

Every course shows its upcoming sessions with venue and fee. You can plan around a date that exists rather than register interest and wait.

In person or genuinely live online

Online delivery means the same facilitator, the same exercises and the same group discussion — delivered live, not a recording with a quiz at the end.

What we cover

Our catalogue spans 94 specialist topics across twelve domains — leadership and management, finance, project and operations, procurement and supply chain, sales and marketing, IT and data, health and safety, development and humanitarian practice, health and social care, human resources, soft skills and industry programmes.

That breadth is deliberate. Organisations rarely need one thing: a ministry sending officers on monitoring and evaluation this quarter needs procurement next quarter and data analytics after that. Browse all topics or search the full catalogue.

Where we deliver

We run classroom courses in more than fifty cities — from Nairobi, Kigali and Lagos to Dubai, London, Singapore and New York — twice a month in each, and live online sessions on weekdays or weekends for teams spread across locations. We also deliver any course in-house, tailored to your organisation's context, systems and constraints.

Working with organisations

Much of our work is with employers sending groups: government agencies and ministries, NGOs and development partners, banks and insurers, and private companies building capability in a specific function. Group rates apply from five participants, and in-house delivery is often the better value above eight.
