Course overview
Knowledge workers are often expected to produce clearer documents, faster analysis, stronger meeting outputs and more consistent customer responses without adding headcount. ChatGPT can reduce time spent on first drafts, research synthesis, spreadsheet interpretation and routine communications, but only when users can frame reliable prompts, verify outputs and handle company information responsibly. This course addresses the gap between occasional experimentation and repeatable workplace use that managers can trust.
Participants learn a practical ChatGPT workflow for planning work, giving context, defining constraints, iterating on outputs and checking quality before use. They practise using ChatGPT to draft emails, reports, policies, briefs, meeting agendas, action lists, training materials and presentation content; analyse and explain spreadsheet data; summarise supplied documents; and create reusable prompt templates. The course also covers hallucinations, source checking, copyright, confidential data handling, bias and when human judgement must override an AI-generated answer.
Delivered through instructor demonstrations, guided prompt labs and workplace case studies, the programme uses realistic business scenarios rather than abstract AI theory. Participants improve the same outputs repeatedly, comparing weak prompts with structured prompts and applying review checklists. Each participant leaves with a role-relevant ChatGPT productivity playbook: a set of tested prompt templates, an AI use-case prioritisation worksheet, quality-control checks and a 30-day application plan for their own work.
The course is suited to professionals who create, analyse, communicate or coordinate information as part of their role, and to managers seeking practical, governed adoption of generative AI across a team.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Construct structured ChatGPT prompts using role, context, task, format and constraint parameters
- Draft and refine workplace emails, reports, briefings and policy documents with ChatGPT
- Convert meeting notes and source material into agendas, action registers and stakeholder communications
- Analyse spreadsheet extracts by prompting ChatGPT for trends, exceptions, formulas and plain-language explanations
- Create reusable prompt templates and a personal prompt library for recurring work tasks
- Evaluate ChatGPT outputs using factual verification, source-tracing and quality-review checklists
- Apply data-handling, confidentiality, copyright and bias controls to workplace AI use cases
- Produce a role-specific ChatGPT productivity playbook and 30-day implementation plan
Benefits of attending
For you
- Build a tested library of prompts for recurring documents, meeting outputs and analysis tasks
- Demonstrate practical AI fluency by producing reviewed, business-ready ChatGPT outputs
- Reduce time spent creating first drafts while retaining ownership of final decisions and wording
- Gain a defensible method for checking AI-generated content before sharing it with colleagues or customers

- Give managers a practical 30-day adoption framework for measuring productivity improvements and resolving barriers
Target competencies
Who should attend
- Business Analysts — who turn operational information into requirements, reports and decision briefs
- Project Managers — who need faster preparation of plans, meeting outputs, status updates and stakeholder communications
- Operations Managers — who standardise team processes, analyse recurring issues and improve internal documentation
- Marketing and Communications Professionals — who develop campaign copy, content briefs and audience-specific messages
- Human Resources Professionals — who create learning materials, role documentation and employee communications
- Executive Assistants and Administrators — who coordinate meetings, prepare documents and manage high-volume correspondence
Requirements and prerequisites
This is a foundation-to-intermediate course. Participants should be comfortable using a web browser, creating and editing business documents, and working with everyday workplace information such as emails, meeting notes, reports or spreadsheet extracts. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint is useful because exercises use common office outputs, but advanced spreadsheet skills, coding, data science and prior AI training are not required. Complete beginners should expect to start with ChatGPT access, prompt structure and safe-use principles before progressing to multi-step workplace tasks. Participants should bring examples of non-confidential work they can adapt during exercises.
Training methodology
The instructor introduces each method through a live ChatGPT demonstration, then participants apply it to a realistic workplace task using supplied business materials. Prompt labs cover drafting, summarising, analysing and revising outputs, with participants comparing prompt versions and documenting what improves accuracy and usability. Small-group case work focuses on safe use of sensitive business information and review decisions. Daily exercises build toward an individual productivity playbook, and the final session includes peer review and a 30-day plan for applying selected use cases at work.
