Course overview
Marketing teams often produce copy that is accurate yet fails to earn attention, sustain interest or generate a clear next action. Landing pages bury the value proposition, email campaigns lead with internal news, paid ads promise too much too early, and product teams struggle to translate features into customer-relevant messages. The AIDA model—Attention, Interest, Desire and Action—provides a disciplined structure for diagnosing these weaknesses and building persuasive copy across the buyer journey without relying on vague claims or generic calls to action.
This course teaches participants to apply AIDA as a practical copywriting method for web pages, email sequences, paid social ads, search ads, product launches and sales enablement assets. Participants learn to identify audience awareness and intent, create attention hooks, turn product attributes into relevant benefits, use proof to build desire, and write action prompts that match the decision required. They also learn to edit copy using an AIDA diagnostic grid, message hierarchy, objection-handling techniques and channel-specific character limits.
Delivered through instructor-led demonstrations, annotated copy critiques, rewriting drills and campaign workshops, the course uses realistic B2B and B2C marketing briefs. Participants progressively develop a complete AIDA campaign pack for one product, service or offer of their choice. The final pack includes an audience message map, landing-page wire copy, email copy, paid-ad variants, testing hypotheses and an editorial checklist that can be used immediately with internal stakeholders, agencies or sales teams.
The course is designed for marketing professionals who already write, review or commission customer-facing copy and need a repeatable method for improving message clarity and conversion performance. It is particularly valuable where teams need to make campaign decisions more evidence-based and create consistent copy across channels.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Diagnose weak marketing copy using an AIDA stage-by-stage audit grid
- Define audience pain points, motivations and awareness levels in a message map
- Write attention hooks using specificity, relevance, contrast and customer language
- Convert product features into interest-building benefits and use-case narratives
- Build desire with proof points, objections, risk reducers and differentiated value claims
- Craft channel-appropriate calls to action that specify the required next step
- Adapt an AIDA message architecture for landing pages, emails, search ads and paid social ads
- Produce a testable AIDA campaign pack with copy variants and measurement hypotheses

Target competencies
Who should attend
- Marketing Managers — who need a consistent method for improving campaign messaging and conversion paths
- Content Marketing Specialists — who create articles, emails and landing pages that must move readers toward action
- Copywriters — who need a repeatable framework for structuring persuasive multi-channel copy
- Digital Marketing Executives — who manage paid and owned campaigns and must align copy with audience intent
- Product Marketing Managers — who translate product capabilities into differentiated customer value propositions
- Sales Enablement Specialists — who develop prospect-facing materials that help sales teams create demand and progress conversations
Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should have practical experience writing, editing or approving customer-facing marketing content such as emails, web pages, advertisements, brochures or social posts. They should understand basic marketing concepts including target audience, value proposition, customer journey, conversion and call to action. Familiarity with a word processor and the ability to review web and advertising examples on a laptop are assumed. Participants should bring, if possible, a current product, service or campaign brief to use in workshops. No prior formal copywriting qualification, design software expertise, analytics certification or advertising-platform administration access is required.
Training methodology
The instructor uses short, focused teaching segments followed by live deconstruction of advertisements, emails and landing pages. Participants annotate copy against the four AIDA stages, compare alternative hooks and calls to action, and rewrite weak examples under realistic channel constraints. Small-group workshops use campaign briefs to develop audience message maps, proof libraries and copy variants, with peer critique guided by an editorial scorecard. Each day adds a component to the final AIDA campaign pack, and the final session includes an application plan for implementing the method in current campaigns and approval workflows.
