Course overview
Marketing teams need a reliable way to produce social content that looks on-brand, fits each platform, and can be delivered at the pace of campaigns, launches, events, and customer conversations. Too often, staff rely on inconsistent templates, resize assets manually, or create posts without a clear hierarchy, call to action, or content purpose. This course equips participants to use Canva as a practical production tool for planned, repeatable social media design rather than as a source of one-off graphics.
Participants learn how to translate brand guidelines, campaign briefs, and audience needs into effective content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and short-form social formats. They work with Canva Brand Kit, templates, grids, typography, colour controls, image editing, Magic Resize, animation, video, collaboration, folders, and content scheduling workflows. The course also covers platform dimensions, accessible design choices, creative testing, content pillars, approval-ready presentation, and using performance signals to improve future creative.
Instructor-led demonstrations are followed by guided Canva build sessions using realistic campaign scenarios. Participants design static posts, carousels, stories, short videos, promotional assets, and reusable templates while receiving structured feedback against a brand and campaign brief. By the end of the week, each participant leaves with a 30-day social media content kit: a channel-ready content calendar, a set of designed assets, reusable Canva templates, and a documented workflow for review, export, and publishing.
The course is suited to marketing professionals who create or coordinate organic social media content and need stronger in-house design capability without becoming specialist graphic designers. It is equally valuable for managers seeking more consistent creative output, faster campaign turnaround, and clearer control of brand assets.

Requirements and prerequisites
This is a foundation-to-intermediate course and is suitable for participants with little or no formal design training. Participants should be comfortable using a web browser, uploading files, organising folders, and working with basic marketing concepts such as audience, campaign objective, brand message, and call to action. Prior Canva experience is helpful but not required; complete beginners will learn the interface and core design controls from the start. Participants should bring access to a Canva account, ideally Canva Pro or a team account, and any available brand guidelines, logos, imagery, or current campaign brief. Adobe Creative Cloud, coding, illustration skills, and prior social advertising experience are not required.
Training methodology
The course combines live instructor demonstrations in Canva with individual build sessions, peer review, and campaign-based workshops. Participants work from supplied brand and campaign briefs, then apply each technique immediately to posts, carousels, stories, and short videos. Group critiques use practical criteria including message clarity, visual hierarchy, accessibility, brand fit, and platform suitability. The final day is structured as a production sprint in which participants assemble their 30-day content kit and create an implementation plan for their own team’s template, approval, and publishing process.
