Requirements and prerequisites

Frequently asked questions

You should be comfortable reading a relational database structure and understand tables, columns, keys, schemas and the purpose of SQL. Prior governance experience is not required, but participants gain more from the course if they have worked with reporting data, a database, data quality issues or a catalogue initiative.

A laptop is recommended for live online delivery and useful in the classroom for working with course templates. No licensed catalogue is required: exercises use supplied sample metadata and demonstrate how the same artefacts can be managed in Collibra, Microsoft Purview or a structured repository.
