Project managers are increasingly expected to deliver technology-enabled change while protecting operational continuity, regulatory obligations, budgets and benefits. Yet many transformation programmes stall because project plans focus on system deployment rather than process redesign, data readiness, adoption, governance and measurable business outcomes. This course equips project managers to lead digital transformation initiatives where cloud platforms, automation, analytics, customer channels and legacy systems must work together.
Participants learn to translate a digital strategy into an executable transformation roadmap, business case and delivery model. They practise assessing digital maturity, defining target operating models, mapping processes and value streams, prioritising a transformation portfolio, and setting outcome-based KPIs. The course covers hybrid Agile and predictive delivery, data governance, cybersecurity-by-design, vendor coordination, change impact assessment, stakeholder engagement and benefits realisation. Participants use Jira, Microsoft Project and Power BI to connect work delivery, reporting and executive decision-making.
Instruction combines expert-led sessions with a sustained transformation case study. Working in project teams, participants diagnose a fictional organisation's transformation challenge, establish governance, sequence releases, manage adoption risks and build a reporting approach. Each participant leaves with a practical Digital Transformation Project Playbook: a tailored set of templates and decisions including a maturity assessment, roadmap, stakeholder plan, benefits map, risk register, KPI dashboard design and 90-day application plan.

Requirements and prerequisites

Participants should be able to interpret basic business cases and process maps. No coding, data science, enterprise architecture qualification or prior Jira, Microsoft Project or Power BI expertise is required; guided exercises introduce the relevant features and templates.
Training methodology
The five-day programme alternates focused instructor-led briefings with guided application to a single enterprise transformation case. Participants work with maturity assessment criteria, value-stream maps, roadmap canvases, governance models, Jira delivery views and Power BI dashboard requirements rather than abstract digital concepts. Small-group workshops test trade-offs involving legacy systems, supplier dependencies, data controls and adoption resistance. Daily exercises build components of the final playbook, and the final session uses peer review and instructor feedback to turn those components into a 90-day implementation plan.
