Course overview
Treasury managers are expected to maintain cash visibility, release payments securely, manage bank relationships and provide reliable liquidity forecasts while payment formats, banking APIs and treasury platforms are changing. Fragmented bank portals, delayed statements, manual payment approvals and inconsistent master data can leave cash positions incomplete and controls difficult to evidence. This course addresses the operational decisions behind a technology-enabled treasury function: what to automate, what to retain as a control, and how to govern data and exceptions.
Participants examine the treasury technology landscape across treasury management systems, ERP cash-management modules, bank connectivity, APIs, SWIFT messaging and ISO 20022 payment standards. They learn to map an end-to-end cash and payment process; configure practical control requirements for user access, payment approval and bank-account management; assess cash-position data quality; and build a short-term liquidity forecasting model. The course also covers TMS implementation governance, integration design, cybersecurity risks, operational resilience and technology-vendor evaluation.
Instruction combines treasury operating models with realistic transaction data, payment workflows and implementation cases. Participants work through exception queues, construct a cash-positioning pack, define a payment-control matrix and assess a proposed TMS integration against business requirements. They leave with a Treasury Fintech Operations Action Plan containing a target process map, priority control improvements, data requirements, implementation roadmap and measures for tracking benefits. The course is suited to treasury managers who need to lead technology decisions without becoming system administrators or software developers.

Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should understand the basic purpose of cash positioning, bank reconciliations, payment approvals and short-term liquidity forecasting. Experience working with Excel cash reports, bank portals, an ERP finance module or a treasury management system is helpful, but expert system administration is not assumed. Participants should be comfortable reading a bank statement, tracing a payment through an approval workflow and discussing internal controls. No coding, API development, SWIFT certification, ISO 20022 implementation experience or prior use of Kyriba or SAP S/4HANA is required. Complete beginners should expect a focused introduction to treasury operations before progressing to technology design decisions.
Training methodology
The programme uses instructor-led briefings to establish treasury technology concepts, followed by guided analysis of cash reports, bank statements, payment workflows and control failures. Participants complete individual and small-group exercises using realistic treasury data and simulated TMS and ERP scenarios. Case discussions examine bank-connectivity outages, fraudulent-payment attempts and implementation trade-offs. Each day adds material to an applied Treasury Fintech Operations Action Plan. On day five, participants test their proposed target process, control matrix and implementation priorities against a peer review and instructor challenge.

- Treasury process mapping using swimlane diagrams and control points
Workshop: Participants map a daily cash-positioning process for a multi-bank company and produce a gap log covering data sources, ownership and control failures.
Day 2: Payments, connectivity and control architecture

Day 3: Cash forecasting, reconciliation and treasury data
