Course overview
Customer service teams often have the data to improve customer experience but lack a controlled operating model for using it. Tickets arrive through multiple channels, ownership changes without visibility, SLAs are applied inconsistently, and reporting measures activity rather than resolution quality. This course addresses the practical challenge of configuring HubSpot Service Hub as a reliable service management environment: one that gives agents clear queues, managers actionable service data, and customers consistent support across email, chat, forms, portals and knowledge content.
Participants learn to design and administer Service Hub workflows around real support operations. They configure Help Desk channels, ticket pipelines, ticket properties, team permissions, SLA rules, routing logic, customer portals and knowledge bases. The course also covers automation using workflows, customer feedback collection through surveys, reporting with service dashboards, and lifecycle handoffs between Service Hub, CRM records, sales teams and marketing teams. Participants practise translating service policies into HubSpot configuration decisions rather than relying on default settings.
Delivery combines instructor demonstrations with guided configuration labs, service-operation case studies and peer review of ticket-handling designs. Each participant works through a realistic support model, including intake channels, escalation paths, SLA definitions, automation and management reporting. They leave with a documented Service Hub service-management blueprint containing a proposed ticket pipeline, property model, routing workflow, SLA matrix, knowledge-base structure and dashboard specification that can be adapted for implementation in their organisation.
The course is suited to experienced customer service, CRM, operations and customer experience professionals who are responsible for improving support delivery or administering HubSpot at team level.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Configure HubSpot Help Desk channels, ticket pipelines and ticket views for multi-channel case management
- Design a ticket property schema that captures issue type, priority, ownership, escalation reason and resolution data
- Build SLA rules and working-hour calendars that measure first response, next response and resolution performance
- Create routing and escalation workflows using ticket-based automation, assignment logic and internal notifications
- Develop a searchable HubSpot Knowledge Base architecture with categories, article templates and content governance rules
- Set up customer feedback surveys and use response data to identify service recovery and experience-improvement actions
- Build service dashboards that track backlog, SLA attainment, resolution time, channel demand and agent workload
- Produce a Service Hub implementation blueprint covering process design, configuration decisions, controls and adoption measures
Benefits of attending
For you
- Gain the ability to translate service policies into working HubSpot pipelines, properties, SLAs and workflows
- Build credible evidence of Service Hub administration capability for CX operations, CRM and support leadership roles
- Learn to diagnose whether poor service performance is caused by process design, queue management, automation or data quality
- Create a portfolio-ready Service Hub blueprint that demonstrates practical service-management design thinking
- Develop confidence presenting service dashboard findings and configuration recommendations to operational leaders
For your organisation
- Create more consistent ticket ownership, prioritisation and escalation across customer service channels
- Reduce missed SLA commitments through defined calendars, automated alerts and visible breach-risk queues
- Improve self-service deflection by aligning knowledge-base content with recurring ticket categories and search behaviour
- Give service leaders decision-ready reporting on backlog, responsiveness, resolution performance and customer feedback
- Reduce implementation rework by documenting Service Hub configuration requirements before changes are deployed
Target competencies
Who should attend
- Customer Service Managers — who need to standardise case handling, SLAs and service performance reporting
- HubSpot Administrators — who configure Service Hub permissions, properties, workflows and reporting for support teams
- Customer Experience Managers — who need connected customer feedback, support insight and improvement processes
- Support Operations Managers — who design queues, routing rules, escalation paths and workforce reporting
- CRM Managers — who govern customer data, lifecycle handoffs and integrations across service and commercial teams
- Knowledge Base Managers — who need to structure self-service content around recurring customer issues
Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should have practical experience of customer service operations, including ticket or case handling, escalation, service levels and basic performance measures. They should be comfortable navigating HubSpot CRM records, lists, properties and standard reports, and should understand their organisation’s current support channels and customer journey. Prior experience administering HubSpot workflows is useful but not essential; workflow logic is taught in the course. Participants do not need coding, API development, data-science or advanced integration experience. Access to a HubSpot test portal or a suitably permissioned training environment is strongly recommended for hands-on configuration.
Training methodology
The instructor uses a working HubSpot Service Hub environment to demonstrate each configuration decision before participants apply it in structured labs. Exercises use a realistic B2B support operation with email, web, chat and portal requests, requiring participants to build queues, properties, SLAs, workflows and dashboards. Small-group case reviews test alternative routing and escalation designs against service policies. Daily debriefs connect configuration choices to operational outcomes, while the final workshop turns each participant’s work into a prioritised implementation and adoption plan.
Course outline
