Course overview
Mambu implementation teams must translate banking propositions into controlled product configurations: loan terms, deposit rules, interest calculations, fees, account states, accounting treatments, user permissions, and API-driven workflows. Errors in these settings can create customer-impacting balances, incorrect accruals, reconciliation exceptions, or operational workarounds. This course gives finance, operations, product, and technology professionals a practical route from product requirements to a testable Mambu configuration.
Participants work through the Mambu Core Banking Platform configuration model, including clients and groups, deposit and credit products, account lifecycle controls, interest and fee settings, repayment schedules, transaction channels, and product-level accounting. They learn to document configuration decisions, map business rules to Mambu fields, configure roles and approval controls, use APIs to inspect and create records, and identify where orchestration or integration logic should sit outside the core platform. Particular attention is given to test evidence, exception handling, and configuration governance.
The course is delivered through instructor-led demonstrations, guided configuration labs, financial-services case studies, and peer reviews of product designs. Participants configure a sample lending and savings proposition in a training tenant, validate scenarios using test data and API calls, and build a configuration pack containing product parameters, lifecycle rules, accounting mappings, test cases, and implementation decisions. This pack provides a usable starting point for internal delivery work.

Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, or Postman is useful but not essential; API exercises are guided. Participants should be comfortable using a web application and spreadsheet. Prior Mambu administration experience, software development capability, SQL, or accounting qualification is not required. Complete beginners should expect to spend time learning core banking terminology before configuring more advanced product rules.
Training methodology
Each day combines instructor-led explanation of Mambu configuration patterns with guided work in a training environment. Participants interpret a banking product brief, configure selected settings, and test resulting account behaviour using realistic customer and transaction data. Short case studies examine common implementation failures, including incorrect repayment logic, ungoverned fee changes, and incomplete accounting mappings. Group reviews require participants to defend parameter choices against business, finance, and operations requirements. The final workshop converts the work into an implementation-ready configuration pack and a prioritised action plan for the participant’s own Mambu context.

Day 2: Deposit and account lifecycle configuration

- Deposit fees, transaction charges, and waiver conditions
- Transaction channels, limits, and approval requirements

Workshop: Participants configure a savings product and test opening, funding, interest accrual, fee charging, blocking, and closure scenarios.
Day 3: Credit product and repayment configuration

- Mambu REST API resources, authentication concepts, and JSON payloads

- Mambu Process Orchestrator use cases and boundaries with core configuration
Workshop: Participants create a posting map and use Postman requests to verify client and account records against expected transaction outcomes.
Day 5: Testing, controlled change, and implementation readiness

- Defect triage using business impact, parameter analysis, and reproducible evidence
