Course overview
Logistics teams are often measured through disconnected indicators: on-time delivery, freight cost, warehouse productivity, inventory availability and customer complaints. Without a common process model, managers struggle to distinguish symptoms from root causes, compare site performance fairly, or explain how a local improvement affects end-to-end service. The SCOR framework provides a disciplined way to connect logistics processes, performance attributes, metrics, benchmarks and improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
This course teaches participants to apply the SCOR Digital Standard to logistics and distribution performance management. Participants map Plan, Source, Deliver, Return and Enable activities; define Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 metrics; build metric hierarchies; set targets; identify performance gaps; and link operational measures to reliability, responsiveness, agility, cost and asset management efficiency. The programme addresses practical measures including perfect order fulfilment, order fulfilment cycle time, cost to serve, inventory days of supply, transportation cost, warehouse throughput and return cycle time.
Instructor-led briefings are combined with worked calculations, logistics case studies, process-mapping workshops and performance-review simulations. Participants use Excel and Power BI examples to turn operational data into SCOR-aligned scorecards and dashboards. By the end of the week, each participant leaves with a completed SCOR logistics performance-management pack: a process map, metric dictionary, KPI hierarchy, baseline-versus-target analysis, dashboard design and 90-day implementation plan suitable for adaptation in their own operation.

Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should be comfortable with common logistics concepts such as order fulfilment, warehouse operations, inventory, transport planning, supplier delivery and customer service measures. Experience reading operational reports or working with spreadsheet data is helpful, as exercises use basic Excel calculations and KPI tables. Attendees should bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel available; Power BI familiarity is useful but not essential because dashboard exercises use guided examples. This is a foundation-to-intermediate course: prior SCOR certification, statistical modelling, programming, ERP configuration or advanced business-intelligence skills are not required. Complete beginners should expect to spend time learning core logistics process and metric terminology.
Training methodology
The programme uses short instructor-led SCOR briefings followed by applied logistics workshops. Participants map a distribution operation, calculate metrics from order, inventory, warehouse and transport data, and test how metric changes affect performance attributes. A running case study follows a company experiencing late deliveries, high expedites and rising fulfilment cost. Small groups conduct root-cause reviews, define scorecards and present improvement priorities in a simulated monthly performance meeting. The final session converts course outputs into an individual 90-day implementation plan for the participant's workplace.
