Course overview

Leadership development programmes often lose credibility when coaching activity cannot be connected to business priorities, manager involvement, participation data, or observable behaviour change. HR, L&D and people leaders need more than a catalogue of coaching sessions: they need a disciplined way to use CoachHub to define target populations, launch relevant coaching journeys, support coachees and sponsors, and review programme evidence without compromising confidentiality. This course addresses the operational and leadership decisions required to turn a coaching platform into a governed development intervention.

Participants learn how to configure and manage leadership development initiatives in CoachHub, from audience definition and programme objectives through coach matching, participant communications, engagement monitoring and impact review. They practise translating leadership capability needs into measurable programme outcomes, using the GROW model to frame development goals, applying ICF-aligned coaching principles, and interpreting platform reporting responsibly. The course also covers stakeholder roles, data privacy boundaries, escalation routes, manager enablement and the distinction between coaching metrics and confidential coaching content.

Delivery combines instructor demonstrations in CoachHub with guided configuration exercises, leadership-development cases and peer design reviews. Participants work through a realistic programme scenario involving first-line and senior leaders, making decisions on cohort design, matching criteria, communications and evaluation measures. They leave with a completed CoachHub Leadership Development Programme Blueprint: a practical launch plan containing audience criteria, leadership outcomes, governance roles, communication sequence, dashboard measures, risk controls and a 90-day implementation roadmap.

The course is best suited to experienced HR, L&D and talent professionals, internal coaching sponsors, HR business partners and leaders responsible for making coaching investment visible and useful. It is equally relevant for organisations preparing a new CoachHub rollout or strengthening governance around an established coaching programme.

Who should attend

  • Learning and Development Managers — who design leadership programmes and need evidence of coaching uptake and impact
  • Talent Development Managers — who align coaching cohorts with succession, high-potential and leadership pathways
  • HR Business Partners — who sponsor leadership interventions for business units and support manager accountability
  • Internal Coaching Programme Managers — who administer CoachHub workflows, participant experience and programme governance
  • People and Culture Leaders — who need a scalable model for developing leaders across locations and functions
  • Senior Line Managers — who sponsor coachees and need to reinforce development goals without breaching coaching confidentiality

Requirements and prerequisites

Participants should have practical experience of leadership development, talent management, HR business partnering or coaching programme administration. They should understand common leadership concepts such as development goals, manager sponsorship, stakeholder roles and basic programme measures such as participation, completion and feedback. Familiarity with the GROW model or the ICF Core Competencies is helpful but not essential; these are applied during the course. Participants need access to a laptop and, where possible, their organisation’s CoachHub environment or a training sandbox. No coding, system integration, coaching qualification or advanced data-analysis expertise is required.

Training methodology

An instructor leads live CoachHub demonstrations, then participants configure decisions against a shared leadership-development scenario. Short teaching segments cover platform workflows, coaching ethics, governance and reporting; these are followed by hands-on cohort design, matching-criteria workshops, dashboard interpretation and stakeholder role-play. Small groups compare programme choices for different leader populations, including high-potential managers and newly appointed executives. Each day adds a section to an individual programme blueprint, and the final session uses peer challenge and instructor feedback to refine a 90-day implementation plan.

Frequently asked questions

No. The course is designed for professionals who sponsor, administer, design or evaluate leadership coaching programmes rather than for people seeking coach accreditation. ICF Core Competencies are used to help participants make sound programme and confidentiality decisions.

A laptop is required for exercises. Participants can work in a training scenario and guided materials, but access to their organisation's CoachHub environment or a sandbox is strongly recommended if they want to apply configuration decisions directly to their own programme.

It suits L&D, talent, HR and internal programme professionals responsible for leadership coaching at cohort or organisational level. It is also useful for business leaders who sponsor coaching and need to interpret programme evidence while protecting coachee confidentiality.

General coaching courses focus on conducting coaching conversations and developing as a coach. This course focuses on operating CoachHub as a leadership development platform: programme design, participant journeys, governance, reporting, stakeholder communications and implementation planning.

You will use the blueprint to make practical decisions about cohorts, matching, communications, sponsor responsibilities, measures and review cadence. The methods can be applied to a new CoachHub rollout, a regional pilot, or an existing programme that needs stronger adoption and reporting.

You leave with a completed CoachHub Leadership Development Programme Blueprint tailored to a realistic or live organisational use case. It includes a cohort design, governance RACI, communication plan, measurement framework, risk register and 90-day rollout roadmap.
