Course overview
Recruitment teams are expected to fill roles quickly while demonstrating fairness, consistency, data protection and sound decision-making. Yet many organisations rely on disconnected requisition forms, inconsistent screening criteria, unstructured interviews and poorly documented selection decisions. This creates avoidable hiring delays, candidate drop-off, weak audit trails and exposure to discrimination or privacy complaints. ISO 30405 provides a practical framework for building a recruitment process that is repeatable, measurable and aligned with organisational workforce needs.
This five-day implementation course translates ISO 30405:2016 into operational recruitment practices. Participants examine the standard’s guidance across recruitment policy, workforce planning, requisition approval, sourcing, candidate communication, screening, assessment, selection, offers, onboarding and process evaluation. They learn to map an end-to-end recruitment workflow, define role-specific selection criteria, build structured interview guides, document assessment evidence, create candidate communications and establish recruitment metrics. The course also addresses how ISO 30405 connects with assessment-provider controls under ISO 10667 and workforce reporting under ISO 30414.
Instruction combines facilitated interpretation of ISO 30405 requirements and guidance with recruitment case studies, document reviews, group design workshops and implementation planning. Participants work with practical templates including a recruitment policy structure, requisition brief, selection-scorecard, interview guide, candidate journey map, decision record and KPI dashboard. Each participant leaves with an ISO 30405 recruitment implementation roadmap tailored to their organisation or business unit, including priorities, owners, evidence requirements and first-stage measures.
The course is designed for HR and talent professionals who already participate in recruitment operations and now need to standardise, improve or govern the full hiring lifecycle.

Target competencies
Who should attend
- Recruitment Managers — who need to standardise hiring practices across teams, locations or business units
- Talent Acquisition Specialists — who design sourcing, screening and candidate-selection workflows
- HR Managers — who oversee recruitment governance, policy compliance and workforce planning alignment
- HR Business Partners — who translate business hiring needs into defensible role and selection requirements
- People Operations Managers — who manage recruitment handoffs, candidate records and onboarding coordination
- Internal HR Auditors — who need to assess recruitment controls, evidence and process conformance
Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should have practical exposure to recruitment activities such as preparing job descriptions, coordinating vacancies, screening applicants, arranging interviews or supporting offer approvals. Familiarity with core HR concepts—job analysis, competency criteria, equal opportunity, candidate confidentiality and basic recruitment metrics—is assumed. Participants should be able to review process documents and work with simple spreadsheets; Microsoft Excel is used for KPI exercises. No prior ISO implementation experience, auditor qualification, legal degree, HRIS administration expertise or statistical analysis training is required. Complete beginners to recruitment should first gain operational hiring experience before attending.
Training methodology
The course uses instructor-led ISO 30405 interpretation sessions followed by practical recruitment-design work. Participants analyse a realistic multi-role hiring case, identify control gaps in sample recruitment documents and rebuild the process using policy, requisition, scorecard and decision-record templates. Small groups test structured interview questions against candidate evidence and compare selection outcomes. Daily workshops add completed artefacts to an individual implementation pack. The final session converts these artefacts into a prioritised rollout plan with accountable owners, measures and review points.
