Course overview
Temenos Transact administrators are expected to keep a high-volume core banking platform secure, available, controlled and ready for daily processing. That means more than creating user profiles or monitoring a batch queue: administrators must understand how company structures, security controls, parameter changes, interfaces, exception queues and close-of-business processing interact. Weak administrative practice can result in delayed settlements, unauthorised access, failed postings, incomplete audit evidence or avoidable disruption during releases. This course gives administrators a structured operating model for managing Transact safely in a live banking environment.
Across five days, participants work through the administration of Temenos Transact environments, including core architecture, company and user structures, role-based access, authorisation controls, parameter maintenance, OFS messaging, operational monitoring and close-of-business processing. They learn to interpret common operational failures, trace transactions through logs and queues, manage controlled configuration changes, and prepare evidence for audit and incident review. The course also addresses practical governance: segregation of duties, privileged access, maker-checker controls, change records and recovery planning.
Delivery combines instructor-led explanation with guided work in a Temenos Transact training environment. Participants complete administration scenarios such as provisioning a controlled user role, investigating a failed interface message, reviewing a COB exception and documenting a production change. They leave with a completed Transact Administration Runbook containing access-control procedures, monitoring checks, incident-triage steps, change-control templates and a COB readiness checklist that can be adapted for their own bank.
The course is designed for professionals who already work around Transact operations and need to administer, support or govern the platform with greater confidence and consistency.

Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should have six to twelve months of experience supporting, operating or administering a banking application, ideally Temenos Transact/T24. They should understand core banking concepts such as customer and account records, transaction posting, authorisation, end-of-day or close-of-business processing, user access and basic incident management. Familiarity with their organisation’s Transact menus, browser interface or support procedures is useful. No software development, Java, jBASE programming or database-administration experience is required. Participants do not need prior experience with OFS message construction, but should be comfortable reading structured transaction and error information.
Training methodology
The instructor uses a configured Temenos Transact training environment to connect platform concepts to daily administrative decisions. Short demonstrations are followed by guided tasks covering user and role setup, parameter review, enquiry-based investigation, OFS exception handling and COB monitoring. Case studies simulate realistic events such as a failed posting, excessive privilege assignment and a delayed batch dependency. Participants work in small groups to decide escalation and control actions, then individually assemble the procedures, checklists and evidence templates for their Administration Runbook.

- Administration evidence, ownership matrices and daily control routines
Workshop: Participants map a sample bank's Transact administration responsibilities and produce a daily, weekly and monthly control calendar.
Day 2: Security administration and controlled access
- EB.USER records and Transact user-profile administration
- Role-based access design and least-privilege assignment
- Function, application and version-level access restrictions
- Maker-checker controls and authorisation delegation rules
- Segregation-of-duties conflict identification and remediation
- Privileged access administration and emergency-access governance
- Periodic access reviews and audit-evidence preparation
Workshop: Participants provision a controlled support role, identify conflicting entitlements and produce an access-review evidence pack.
Day 3: Transaction operations, OFS and close-of-business control
