A contaminated site, unmanaged permitting gap, tailings-risk issue or weak environmental management system can alter valuation, delay a transaction, trigger remediation liabilities and undermine an investment committee recommendation. This course equips investment professionals to ask the right questions early, interpret specialist reports critically and convert environmental findings into clear financial and decision-making implications without attempting to replace technical consultants.
Participants learn a structured environmental due diligence workflow for direct investments, real estate, project finance and operating assets. The course covers risk screening, scoping consultant instructions, reviewing Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, assessing regulatory and permit exposure, identifying material environmental risks, and evaluating environmental management systems against ISO 14001, IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles.
