Course overview

Oracle Fusion Cloud Performance Management administrators are responsible for turning an organisation’s performance policy into a controlled, usable annual review process. That work involves more than creating a performance document: administrators must configure review periods, eligibility, roles, sections, ratings, questionnaires, notifications, approvals and reporting without introducing inconsistent scoring, unauthorised access or incomplete employee records. This course addresses the practical administration challenges faced when performance cycles need to run reliably across business units, countries and employee populations.

Participants learn to configure and maintain Oracle Fusion Cloud Performance Management using the Setup and Maintenance work area. They build performance templates and sections, create rating models, associate goals and questionnaires, establish eligibility profiles, configure process-flow tasks, manage participant feedback, and control performance-document access. The course also covers cycle launch activities, administration of in-progress documents, troubleshooting common process issues, and extracting meaningful management information through Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) and BI Publisher.

Delivery combines instructor-led configuration demonstrations with guided work in an Oracle Fusion Cloud environment. Participants complete a five-day case study based on a multi-department annual appraisal cycle, making configuration decisions for employees, managers, HR specialists and senior reviewers. They leave with a documented Performance Management configuration workbook, including template design, rating approach, eligibility rules, process-flow map, security considerations, reporting requirements and a launch-readiness checklist that can be adapted for their own tenant.

The course is designed for HR systems professionals who already work with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and need ownership of Performance Management configuration, support or change delivery. It is equally relevant to HR transformation teams preparing a new review cycle, redesigning an existing appraisal process, or standardising performance practices after an Oracle Fusion Cloud deployment.

Course objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Configure Performance Management review periods, performance templates and document sections in Oracle Fusion Cloud
  • Build rating models, calculated ratings and section-weighting structures aligned to organisational appraisal policy
  • Create eligibility profiles that assign the correct performance process to defined worker populations
  • Associate goal plans, questionnaires and participant-feedback requests with performance documents
  • Configure performance process-flow tasks, due dates, notifications and approval routing for an annual review cycle
  • Administer performance documents by monitoring status, correcting assignments and managing exception scenarios
  • Develop OTBI analyses and BI Publisher outputs for completion, rating and overdue-task reporting
  • Produce a Performance Management configuration workbook and cycle launch-readiness checklist

Who should attend

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Administrators — who configure and support Performance Management processes in production
  • HRIS Analysts — who translate HR policy into templates, eligibility rules, workflow and reporting requirements
  • Talent Management Systems Specialists — who own appraisal-cycle design, testing and operational readiness
  • HR Transformation Project Team Members — who configure or validate Performance Management during an Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation
  • HR Operations Managers — who need to govern review-cycle execution and resolve employee or manager exceptions
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud Functional Consultants — who need practical configuration depth for Talent Management client work

Requirements and prerequisites

Participants should have practical experience navigating Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, including the Setup and Maintenance work area, workforce structures, legal employers, business units and basic role-based access concepts. Familiarity with the employee and manager self-service experience is important because participants will configure the processes those users complete. Prior exposure to Oracle Fusion Talent Management, performance-review policy or HRIS configuration is helpful, but deep technical development skills are not required. SQL, Fast Formula programming, Oracle Integration Cloud and prior BI Publisher design experience are not required; reporting exercises are taught from the functional administrator perspective.

Training methodology

The instructor uses a configured Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM training environment to demonstrate each administrative task before participants complete it themselves. Short configuration briefings are followed by guided labs covering templates, rating models, eligibility profiles, process flows, document administration and reports. A running case study requires teams to resolve policy choices for different employee groups and test the resulting user experience as employee, manager and HR specialist. On the final day, participants consolidate their settings into a configuration workbook and cycle launch plan for review with the instructor.

Frequently asked questions

You should be comfortable navigating Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and locating functional setup tasks in Setup and Maintenance. The course assumes familiarity with workforce structures and self-service HR processes, but it does not require programming, SQL or integration-development experience.

Bring a laptop suitable for accessing a browser-based training environment during live online delivery; classroom requirements will be confirmed before the course. A dedicated Oracle Fusion Cloud training environment is used for the hands-on exercises, so access to your employer's tenant is not required.

It is most suitable for people who will configure, test, govern or provide second-line support for Performance Management. HR business partners with responsibility for performance-policy design can benefit, but the course is configuration-led rather than a general course on conducting performance conversations.

This course concentrates on the end-to-end administration of performance documents, ratings, workflow, feedback, eligibility and cycle reporting. Goals and Talent Review are addressed only where they connect to Performance Management; dedicated courses explore those products and their specialist processes in greater depth.

Participants can use the configuration workbook and launch checklist to assess an existing appraisal cycle, prepare a new review period or document required changes for their Oracle Fusion Cloud team. The labs also provide a repeatable approach for testing template changes and diagnosing live-cycle exceptions.

You leave with a completed case-study Performance Management configuration workbook covering templates, ratings, eligibility, workflow, security and reporting requirements. You also produce functional test scenarios, an OTBI reporting design and a launch-readiness checklist that can be tailored to your organisation.
