This five-day course equips participants to build and operate a public housing asset management approach aligned to service objectives, regulatory obligations and portfolio strategy. Participants work with asset hierarchies, stock condition survey data, component lifecycles, planned maintenance forecasts, lifecycle cost models, risk matrices and capital programme prioritisation methods. They learn to translate raw property data into a 30-year investment profile, establish performance measures, assess compliance-critical assets, model repair-versus-replace options, and present investment cases that senior leaders, finance teams and oversight bodies can scrutinise.

Teaching combines focused instructor-led sessions with housing-sector cases, spreadsheet modelling, peer review and facilitated decision workshops. Participants use a worked public housing portfolio to create an asset management decision pack containing an asset data improvement plan, lifecycle investment forecast, risk-prioritised works programme, performance dashboard specification and governance actions.
