Course overview
Enterprise change programmes often fail after go-live because employees receive communications and training but cannot apply new processes confidently inside the systems they use each day. Change managers need more than a rollout plan: they need to identify role-specific moments of friction, deliver contextual support in the workflow, and demonstrate whether adoption is improving. This course addresses the practical challenge of using Whatfix to turn change enablement plans into measurable, in-application guidance for system implementations, process changes and digital transformation initiatives.
Participants learn to design and govern Whatfix content for a defined change initiative. The course covers adoption goals, stakeholder and persona analysis, user-journey mapping, Whatfix Flows, Smart Tips, Beacons, Task Lists, Self Help, content segmentation and analytics. Participants practise translating change impacts into targeted guidance, linking support content to communications and training activities, and using behavioural data to identify adoption barriers. They also learn practical governance methods for content ownership, review cycles, accessibility, release management and measurement.
Delivery combines instructor-led demonstrations with guided configuration exercises in a Whatfix practice environment. Teams work through a realistic enterprise software rollout, build contextual support for priority tasks, review learner and usage signals, and revise their intervention plan. Each participant leaves with a Change Enablement with Whatfix blueprint containing a persona map, prioritised adoption journeys, a guidance-content design, governance model, measurement dashboard specification and 90-day implementation roadmap.
The course is suited to experienced change, transformation, learning and product-adoption professionals who are helping employees adopt new enterprise applications or redesigned business processes.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Map stakeholder groups, user personas and change impacts to priority digital adoption journeys
- Configure Whatfix Flows to guide users through multi-step business processes
- Create contextual Smart Tips and Beacons for high-risk fields, controls and process decisions
- Design segmented Task Lists and Self Help content for role-specific onboarding and performance support
- Translate ADKAR change objectives into in-application guidance, communications and reinforcement activities
- Interpret Whatfix guidance analytics to diagnose drop-off points and adoption barriers
- Establish a Whatfix content governance model covering ownership, review, release and retirement controls
- Produce a 90-day digital adoption enablement plan with success measures and stakeholder actions
Benefits of attending
For you
- Build credible hands-on Whatfix authoring capability rather than relying solely on vendor demonstrations
- Learn to connect change-management plans to measurable user behaviour inside enterprise applications
- Create a portfolio-ready enablement blueprint for a real or simulated system rollout
- Strengthen conversations with product owners by using adoption data to justify intervention priorities
- Position yourself for digital adoption, transformation and enterprise platform change roles
For your organisation
- Reduce avoidable support tickets by placing guidance at the point where users encounter process difficulty
- Improve consistency of new-process execution through role-specific, step-by-step Whatfix guidance
- Give change sponsors evidence of adoption progress beyond attendance and training-completion figures
- Establish reusable standards for Whatfix content quality, ownership and release governance
- Shorten time to proficiency after enterprise system launches, upgrades and policy-driven process changes
Target competencies
Who should attend
- Change Managers — who must convert change-impact assessments into practical employee support
- Digital Adoption Managers — who own adoption outcomes for enterprise platforms and process rollouts
- Transformation Leads — who need evidence that new operating models are being used correctly
- Learning and Development Managers — who must blend formal training with in-workflow performance support
- Business Systems Product Owners — who need to reduce user friction after system releases
- HRIS, ERP or CRM Implementation Leads — who must prepare diverse user groups for new platform processes
Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should have practical experience supporting a business change, software implementation, process redesign or employee learning initiative. They should understand basic change-management concepts such as stakeholder analysis, change impacts, communications and training plans, and be comfortable navigating web-based enterprise applications. Familiarity with the organisation's target application, such as an HRIS, CRM or ERP platform, is useful. Participants do not need prior Whatfix authoring experience, coding knowledge, API skills or data-analysis expertise. A live Whatfix authoring account is helpful but is not required for the instructor-led practice activities.
Training methodology
The instructor uses a realistic enterprise application rollout to demonstrate each Whatfix capability before participants configure it themselves in a guided practice environment. Short teaching sessions connect ADKAR, change-impact analysis and stakeholder methods to in-application enablement decisions. Individual exercises develop Flows, Smart Tips, Beacons, Task Lists and Self Help content; group reviews test whether the guidance is clear for different personas. Analytics scenarios require participants to diagnose adoption barriers from usage signals. The final day is a workshop in which participants assemble, critique and present a 90-day Whatfix enablement plan.
