Digital transformation programmes often stall when business teams depend on lengthy development queues for workflow, customer-service and operational applications. Mendix enables organisations to deliver governed low-code solutions more quickly, but successful delivery still requires disciplined domain modelling, reusable logic, integration design, security controls and deployment practices. This course helps professionals turn identified process problems into production-ready Mendix application designs rather than isolated prototypes.
Participants build intermediate Mendix capability across Mendix Studio Pro, including domain models, page design, microflows, nanoflows, business rules, workflows, reusable modules and application security. They learn to connect applications to REST services, structure data and logic for maintainability, manage team development through the Mendix Developer Portal, and use monitoring feedback to improve an application after release. The course also addresses how to select digital transformation use cases that are feasible, measurable and suitable for low-code delivery.
Instruction combines targeted demonstrations with guided development in a realistic service-operations case. Working individually and in small delivery teams, participants design and build a Mendix application that digitises a manual approval or case-management process. They leave with a documented application blueprint, a working prototype containing data, pages, workflow and integration components, and an implementation plan that identifies stakeholders, release risks, success measures and next development steps.

Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should have experience of analysing business processes or contributing to application delivery, plus basic familiarity with data concepts such as entities, attributes, relationships and validation. Comfort using a desktop application, a web browser and structured requirements such as user stories is assumed. Prior exposure to Mendix Studio Pro, REST APIs, JSON or object-oriented programming is helpful but not mandatory; essential concepts are introduced before practical work begins. Participants do not need advanced coding skills, Java expertise, database administration experience or prior Mendix certification. A Windows laptop capable of running Mendix Studio Pro is required for hands-on development.
Training methodology
The course is delivered through instructor-led demonstrations in Mendix Studio Pro followed by supervised build sessions. Participants work from a service-operations case, converting process maps and user stories into a domain model, screens, microflows, workflow steps and an API connection. Short design reviews compare alternative modelling and security choices, while team discussions address governance and deployment trade-offs. Each day closes with an applied exercise. On day five, participants present their prototype and complete an application rollout plan for a nominated workplace use case.

Day 5: Operationalising low-code transformation delivery
