Course overview
Organisations are under pressure to produce auditable greenhouse-gas inventories, explain emissions changes to executives, and respond to investor, customer and regulatory requests without relying on disconnected spreadsheets. Salesforce Net Zero Cloud provides a structured environment for collecting activity data, applying emissions factors, calculating Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and preparing disclosure-ready outputs. This course addresses the practical challenge of configuring and operating that environment so that reported figures can be traced to source data, approved calculation methods and accountable data owners.
Participants learn to translate a corporate GHG reporting requirement into a Salesforce Net Zero Cloud operating model. They configure emissions sources and activity records, manage emissions factors, apply market- and location-based Scope 2 methods, organise Scope 3 categories, set data-quality controls, and use dashboards to investigate variances. The course also covers GHG Protocol alignment, evidence retention, reporting-period management, supplier data collection and the design of governance workflows for review and approval.
Delivery combines instructor-led demonstrations with guided configuration exercises in a Salesforce Net Zero Cloud training environment. Working through a realistic multi-site company case, participants build an emissions-reporting workflow from source-data intake to executive dashboard and disclosure extract. Each participant leaves with a documented Net Zero Cloud reporting blueprint: data-source map, emissions-source design, calculation-control checklist, dashboard specification and 90-day implementation plan that can be adapted for their organisation.

Requirements and prerequisites
Participants should understand the basic purpose of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions reporting and have experience working with operational, finance, utility, travel or supplier data. Familiarity with Salesforce navigation, records, reports and dashboards is strongly recommended; Salesforce administrators should be comfortable with fields, objects, permissions and basic automation concepts. Participants should also be able to use spreadsheets to inspect source data and perform simple unit checks. Prior Net Zero Cloud configuration experience is not required, and neither coding, API development nor formal carbon-accounting certification is assumed.
Training methodology
The instructor uses a realistic multi-site manufacturer case to demonstrate each Net Zero Cloud workflow before participants configure it themselves. Short technical briefings on GHG Protocol are followed by guided exercises using utility, fuel, travel, waste and supplier datasets. Teams diagnose data-quality issues, select factor and boundary treatments, and defend dashboard choices in review discussions. Daily outputs are added to an implementation workbook. On day five, participants assemble their reporting blueprint and receive instructor feedback on controls, ownership and practical deployment priorities.
